The Overpowering Sound of Silence

" Silence is more eloquent than words." - Thomas Carlyle

Silence emanates a transcendental energy - an energy that reaches to my soul, to my inner state of being.
Silence's lack of audible sound makes it even more stronger than any scream.
Sometimes I even feel that silence can become seemingly loud.

I always believe that it takes a certain level of maturity, of eloquence to observe a few minutes of silence.
Thus, the wisdom and respect for those people I know who can share a few moments of silence with me.

When you simply want to listen to what your heart is telling you to do.
When the world has become too connected that you just want to regain your own private universe.
When expectations are already too difficult to manage and a sweet escape will do magic.
When lives are tangled and you just need to let go and figure things on your own for a while
When listening to nothing is the answer to everything.

SILENCE.

This Holy Week, let the power of silence enable you to go deeper to understanding who you are now;
to recognizing the greatest power above us all.

Why Are You in Such a Hurry?

"You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry. Don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way." - Walter Hagen

Last week I met an accident and suffered from an aggravated sprain on my left foot.
I limped as I went to work.  Given this mishap, I needed to wake up early so I have ample time to commute.
Funny how people looked at me as I walk - it says a thousand stories. I have to stay on the side so as not to be bothersome, especially to those who seem to be in a hurry.  I watched them as they went past through me...then I asked myself.  Why are they in such a hurry?  Late for work? Maybe.  Is someone waiting for them?  Perhaps.  There may be a number of reasons - some of which may be beyond my comprehension.

Despite the pain tingling in my foot, I realized, it's okay to slow down a bit.
I figured, I now have an excuse to slowly go through my day.
Slowing down does not necessarily mean you are regressing from your set directions, set plans.
You are definitely still on track - only more aware of your senses; more attuned to your environment.

When we hurry, we tend to miss out on certain things. Things that may be essential to our destination.
We may be thinking too much ahead, too much of tomorrow that we neglect to see the only thing that we're sure of - today; this precise moment.

Slow down and see the world. Slow down and talk to your loved ones.
Slow down and breathe.
Life's lovely when you know you're living every moment of it.

Are You Better than Yesterday?

"It is necessary to surpass oneself always; this occupation ought to last as long as life." - Christina

At the most unexpected time, I discovered life in another perspective.

I was living it freely and spontaneously but never had I pondered on it deeply - like I do now. Life was just passing by like a big screenplay in front of me. And I'm it's biggest fan - an audience waiting for every scene to occur and hoping that the director of this play thought over the plot carefully so that I get my money and time's worth of watching.
It was all passive and somewhat submissive.

When I came face to face with this new perspective, I realized that I have a role to play.  I can criticize. I can react. I can question. It's actually not rocket-science but the mere awareness of this power unraveled the better me.

It's never too late to assess where you are right now.  I got another chance.
Looking back, I figured I survived the many challenges thrown unto me. I successfully solved certain issues in my life with grace and gusto.  The only difference now, is that I actually appreciate it more, because when it happens again, I know better what to do.

Perhaps the trick is to see life in a macro and micro point of view as and when necessary. You then focus on whatever it is you're trying to improve. It's like leaving a mark; leaving a legacy - that at one point in time, you tried to make better today than yesterday.  Because after all, we do not live for ourselves only.

This is the new me writing.

This is an overflow of inspiration.

A wake-up call to make things better.
